Vehicle Manufacturer liaison

All Techni drive system developments engage the vehicle manufacturer (VM) from the outset.

From supply of the development vehicle and discussions on which options effecting the FEAD, engine belt run and management systems, to the interface parameters for the compressor, generator or hydraulic clutch pump.

Under an NDA most vehicle manufacturers supply CAD to assist in fast tracking developments and ensure conformity of design and production of piece parts. Throughout the design process verification and validation in liaison with the VM and where applicable, Tier 1 component manufacturers, to optimise the design outcome.

On completion of the prototype design, the VM applications engineering team visit, to assess and approve the installation. The design is then forwarded to the VM’s power train engineering team to validate and future proof it, prior to investment in production tooling.

Finally, the production parts are test fitted and run, in conjunction with the VM applications engineering team to approve the finished system for LONO agreement status where applicable.

Techni has NDAs in place, and either Qualified Partner status or Preferred Supplier status with all leading vehicle manufacturers, for truck, bus and LCV applications.

Techni drive systems are critical to food chain transportation, mini-bus, mobility, ambulance and blue light applications ensuring that it receives preferential pre-launch vehicles for development where new generation Euro VI low emissions engines are mandatory.

Generator Drive Kits

Techni offers multiple configurations of Generator mount kits to meet specific customer requirements and packaging efficiencies.

Secondary Alternator/Generator drive kits present their own unique challenges in achieving the output characteristics at a desired speed(s). To achieve high Kw output at idle will potentially over speed the generator at normal engine running speeds resulting in significantly reduced service life. The speed required to generate usable power is up to 5 times faster than for compressor applications. These factors alone impact on; belt life, belt wrap and tensioning to eliminate slip.

The Techni team have the knowledge and experience to evaluate all operating parameters to design an optimised solution, accepting the compromise of conflicting requirements that must be balanced with the durability and serviceability of the drive system.
